About CostaCaddie

The site covers the Costa Brava and the Barcelona area and is written in English for golfers travelling to Spain. There is one page per course. Where a rate has been verified, that page carries it with the window it is valid between; where the club publishes them and we have been able to verify them, it also carries the practical facts a visitor wants before booking — whether visitors are accepted, whether a handicap certificate is required, the dress code, and how to reach the course. Coverage is uneven: a good many courses currently have neither, and their pages say so rather than leaving you to guess.

It is built as a reference, not a magazine. There are no articles, no reviews and no rankings. A course page is a table of figures and a short set of factual blocks, and it exists to answer one question quickly: what does it cost to play here, and under what conditions?

The clubs are the authoritative source for all of it. They publish their tariffs on their own sites, usually in Spanish or Catalan, often as a PDF, and frequently without saying which season the figures belong to. CostaCaddie's job is narrow: take what each club publishes, render it in English, keep the validity window attached to the price, and show when it was last verified.

Where the data comes from

Every figure starts at the course's own published tariff page. Those pages are fetched by a bot that identifies itself with a real user agent and rate-limits its requests so that no club's server is loaded, and each page is archived exactly as it was served. That archive is the audit trail: any price on this site can be traced back to the document it was read from.

The archived page is then read by a language model against a strict schema — item, day type, player category, amount, and the dates between which the price applies — and the result has to pass a verification gate before it reaches the site. The gate compares each new extraction against the previous one and holds anything it cannot vouch for: a fee that has moved sharply, a page whose structure has changed, a low-confidence reading, or a tariff whose validity window ended before the current season. Held extractions go to a review queue and are not published until a person has approved them.

The source pages are in Spanish and Catalan; the site is in English. The original wording is stored alongside the English rendering of every fact, so a translation can always be checked against the sentence it came from.

Each course page shows a last-verified date derived from the pipeline, never typed by hand. If a page says a fee was verified on a given day, that is the day the club's own tariff was last read and the gate accepted what it found. Pages are re-fetched and re-verified as the site is maintained, and that date moves when the check actually happens — so what a page tells you is when its figures were last confirmed, which is the fact worth having, rather than a promise about how often we look.

What this site is not

CostaCaddie is not a booking agent, a tee-time reseller or a travel agency. Nothing can be booked here and no rate on this site is one we could sell you. Every course page links to the club's own website so you can book at the source.

There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no comment threads and no contact forms. The site is a set of static pages; the only address it has is the one below.

Where a course has no verified rate here, the page says exactly that. It does not guess, carry last season's figure forward, or claim that the club does not publish prices — the club may publish them perfectly well and the rate may simply be waiting in the review queue. A gap in the data is described as our gap, never as the club's silence.

Nothing here is written speculatively to fill space. If a fact is not in the store, there is no sentence about it.

If something here is wrong or out of date — particularly if you run one of these courses and we have misread your tariff — write to ferran@crisalide.io. A correction from a club is applied directly rather than left waiting for the page to be read again, and anything that cannot be verified is removed rather than left standing.

CostaCaddie is operated by Crisàlide Tecnologies SL, which has no ownership stake in, and no agency relationship with, any of the courses it lists. It is a small, self-funded project.
